In search of new musical territories, seven of the most outstanding young improvising musicians in the vibrant Trondheim Jazz scene gathers in Megalodon Collective.
Megalodon was the septets first album release, where composed material as well as improvised parts are presented with freedom and passion. Inspirations from film music, outer space, free jazz, improv, noise, classical and medieval music are obvious.
Megalodon Collective is said to be one of the best new jazz-orchestras to come out of the norwegian/swedish jazz scene. The septet released their debut album this september and has toured all of norway with great sucsess. The debut album is nominated for best jazz album of 2015 at the norwegian grammys.
